A Democrat managing to win a statewide election in Alaska is incredibly funny. Apparently it was ranked choice with 1 other Republican, and of the votes who went to the other guy that got eliminated in the first round, 50% went to Palin, 30% to Peltola, and 20% were too disgusted/didn't know how it worked/couldn't be bothered to rank someone 2nd.

lol that's beautiful. The best part of ranked choice voting in bourgeois electoralism is all the ridiculous outcomes that become possible

In theory ranked-choice voting should moderate positions; however, we all know the GOP will just keep nominating the most loathsome morons it can find and some will win somehow.

I look forward to the first Congress Critter who speaks solely in tongues and handles live snakes on the House floor.

Ranked choice voting has a "center squeeze" effect where centrists can more easily eat shit than in fptp. Not only is this favorable to lefties / underdogs, the mechanism by which is happens is hilarious

I am not aware of an argument against ranked choice voting that isn't also just an argument against democratic appointment

Ranked-choice voting presumes rational choices are being made by the majority of voters over time.

            Lol...
