Could this mean we return to :reddit-logo: from the long march and start brigading without fear of retribution? :john-brown:
exactly, another example is when TIME published verifiably false bullshit about genzedong
it says so much that they considered that too far
to me it shows a deep subconscious awareness that they are exploiters and wage slavers
They have actually since removed the rule on promoting violence, ostensibly because of the Ukraine war
Rule 1
Remember the human. Reddit is a place for creating community and belonging, not for attacking marginalized or vulnerable groups of people. Everyone has a right to use Reddit free of harassment, bullying, and threats of violence Communities and users that incite violence or that promote hate based on identity or vulnerability will be banned.
Was it worded differently before? Seems like it's still there to me?
Obviously they don't give a shit about it and selectively apply it only to violence against western nations.
Yeah I agree, was just being tounge-in-cheek. I just liked the thought of us coming back and going "muh :19: :84: tho" but to feds when they got around to banning us.
Because snitching is ok when it's snitching on :reddit-logo: admins. Who am I kidding though, I don't bother posting in reddit anymore.
There is no way in hell this law will ever protect anything but fascist viewpoints.
I can't tell if this is a joke or not and that fucking sucks
lol no the feds will nearly always categorize revolutionary left speech as anti-democratic and pro-violence.
CTH can't return because it was explicitly banned for promoting violence.
Genzedong however wasn't banned, it was quarantined and the quarantine was 100% applied because of the type of speech and not because of threats of violence. They have an argument. It'll fail because there's no way reddit will let them out, but they have an argument.
I think there's a slim chance that reddit could be convinced to free them on the basis of wanting to deliberately stir a shitstorm about the law.
CTH can’t return because it was explicitly banned for promoting violence.
Well actually, no. Reddit never mentioned explicitly why we were banned in their announcement. They listed a several explicit rules which r/The_Donald violated, and in the next breath said something like "we also broke rules." They did not cite a single example.
Alongside the change to the content policy, we are initially banning about 2000 subreddits, the vast majority of which are inactive. Of these communities, about 200 have more than 10 daily users. Both r/The_Donald and r/ChapoTrapHouse were included.
All communities on Reddit must abide by our content policy in good faith. We banned r/The_Donald because it has not done so, despite every opportunity. The community has consistently hosted and upvoted more rule-breaking content than average (Rule 1), antagonized us and other communities (Rules 2 and 8), and its mods have refused to meet our most basic expectations. Until now, we’ve worked in good faith to help them preserve the community as a space for its users—through warnings, mod changes, quarantining, and more.
Though smaller, r/ChapoTrapHouse was banned for similar reasons: They consistently host rule-breaking content and their mods have demonstrated no intention of reining in their community.
I agree though that there's no way in hell they'd let us back.
I do like the idea of us returning, having become more disciplined and hardened in our resolve and purpose, unleashing a torrent of John Brown memes and PPB without mercy
Could this mean we return to from the long march and start brigading without fear of retribution?
You're new aren't you
Check the join date, I was there when it came down, was there for the Kerry posters man. The Kerry posters!
my point is that they only grant "free speech" to right-wing/fascist/pro-white/pro-capitalist ideologies
Aren't there still anti-communist laws on the books? Still, I would definitely tune into the podcast to hear Will complain about us.
