Meanwhile on PC literally every headset can play SteamVR games, and there's even ways to get Oculus games working with SteamVR.

Last time I borrowed a friend's oculus, playing steam games was a non-issue. Did that change? it's been a couple years.

Nah, Oculus headset with SteamVR games is fine. The issue is playing Oculus exclusive games (because of course Facebook had to make exclusivity deals) with other headsets. But like I said, there's ways to get it working.

god thats annoying. I hate all the launchers and people will say "no its good steam has competition!" but as soon as there's launcher exclusives it goes out the window. I rather a monopoly over 6 launchers.

same with streaming videos, there was an absolute golden age around 2008-2013ish when Netflix was the only player on the field and everyone was selling their catalogue to them for a nickel. Now I have 4 streaming subscriptions and 9 video game store launchers

Only good thing to come from it is the endless free games Epic gives out. I have something like 100+ games in my epic library, some very high quality games. I've never put my credit card into Epic.

If you've got Prime, you can also get free games from Amazon Games (used to be through Twitch). I've got like 30+ games from that, I easily put a few hundred hours into Enter the Gungeon

Every few months amazon makes the foolish mistake of giving me a free month, despite me cancelling it every time. I'll check that out.

lmao they released this garbage for like $600 years ago and not a single decent game out on it and now they're doubling down along with the ps5 which, surprise, also has no fucking games for it. capitalism is just becoming inventive new forms of vaporware.

That's ok, I'm glad that VR will continue to be an awkward niche thing that most people can ignore. Who the hell has the space for swinging your arms about in VR anyways? I look at the hovel I'm sitting in now and I'd easily bash my hands into a lamp or a bookcase if I wasn't careful, and I certainly couldn't do the kind of VR setup where you stand up and walk around. The rent is too damn high for this shit.

Honestly I’d love a 2nd gen PSVR, I have a PS5 but don’t have a pc powerful enough for VR and the first gen PSVR kinda sucks, but they need to actually give me some games besides Skyrim

Meanwhile my Quest 2 can play anything (all pirated) on PC with AirLink no problem. Gonna try the Resident Evil 7 VR mod soon. I can do the roomscale too but only because I don't own furniture.
