Severer to me reads like it means a person who severs things. I'd get it if I heard it but reading it seems weird.
Only context I have seen this word is the finger severer in elden ring. So I'm with you on this one.
It's like those pedants who claim that the saying is "You've got another think coming." Nope I'm with Rob Halford on this one.
Severer sounds like a very bad and super-self-serious death metal band.
