is bluesky just the twitter-style "everyone posts their riff on $currentevent" but without any funny people

The site is annoying, it's buggy, and there is a lot of "Gimme likes!" crap. It's (very) difficult to find good people to follow. On the other hand - I have found some neat stuff there. Here are some examples - my recent Bluesky(-related) posts that I like...

      https://hexbear.net/u/InevitableSwing?page=1&sort=New&view=Posts

      • The map question
      • Mussolini got shot in his nose.
      • Bird lore
      • Delicious pasta
      • Trigger fish
      • A prison tattoo gun made with a Grateful Dead cassette.

      $currentevent

There certainly is that but there's also the annoying farming for likes. Somebody had a post about their cat Tarragon. I commented that what they said sounded like a Steely Dan song. Later I felt like a total fool because Tarragon content is part of her branding. She might make multiple Tarragon posts a day and she always sticks the cat's name into the comment. She does the same thing with her other cat too.

I like cats and dogs but I really don't want to see another fucking "Gimme likes!" cat/dog photo at Bluesky. Everybody does that shit.

And some stuff is weirdly absent from the site. I spent some time looking for people who play guitar - professional or amateur or in between - and who talk about playing guitar instead of "Guitar pic of the day!". I couldn't believe it - I found almost nothing. I finally found a comment by a guy I might be interested in. The post had a photo of a pedal board with a tangle of cables and he made a comment about analog tape delay. I got to his profile and he had 7 followers.

I attempt to use the Gouda as one of the wheels so I can drag my Cybertruck to a repair shop. It falls off.
