almost all console controls for first person games are deeply flawed, since I’ve been a PC gamer for so long
yeah, PC is superior in general, but that's why i also brought up daggerfall. the original daggerfall has awful tank controls that need to be changed significantly before it feels playable.
Yeah I ain't contradicting you there lol. Controllers are good for plenty of types of games, don't get me wrong - keyboard and mouse isn't always a superior option. It's great for manage-y type games and anything that focuses on precision cursor placement, but many other types of games are really better on controller, like fighting games or platformers.
Anything that requires smooth translation is better on console. Assassins Creed is fairly well optimised for PC but some missions were clearly designed with fine/non-binary walking control assumed.
IMO the ideal control setup for the most types of games is probably a HOMAS/KB arrangement but good luck finding non-sims that support it.

And racing games. Analog triggers for throttle and brakes makes a pretty big difference in control.
Absolutely! I just didn't mention it because vehicle games have their own control method snobbery.
Flight sims
:yea:
