Parks are your friend. They're one of the few places you're allowed to exist in public for free, and some of them have public bathrooms. (If not, they probably have some kind of port-a-potty situation. Bring hand sanitizer.) You can spend hours there if you're prepared. Wear headphones (they don't actually have to be plugged in to anything or playing anything) and hold a book (you don't have to actually read it) if you're worried about being left alone or looking like you're "loitering."
As someone who also likes being alone, it's not the same. I need to be away from other people completely to fully unwind. Too many things moving around and distracting me in a space like that. I almost certainly have undiagnosed ADHD, though. It extra sucks that I'm homeless for the foreseeable future.
