Or...hear me out....we can admit fossil fuels are a primitive energy source and we should switch to renewables ASAP, even if some meatheaded chavs and white trash can't compensate for their micropenises as easily?
Ever since the massive spikes in energy that happened over the summer, I've watched helplessly as my government has been attempting neoliberal half-measure after neoliberal halfmeasure in order to prevent the population from ousting her and putting her head on a spike. So far they've reduced the tax on electricity, and done some means-tested "if you live in these areas and primarily heat your home using electricity, you get a check for 6000 kr. (about $1000)".
I have seen exactly zero discussion about maybe nationalizing that big fucking energy company (which is supposedly also hurting, but wont say how much) that her predessor (another useless social democrat) privatised.
There is also very little talk about building more capacity, which I am going to assume is because we are being hamstrung by both the EU and the complete lack of ability that my country demonstrates on the daily. Apparently it's because a lot of people are complaining that windmills (our current best bet for renewable energy in this flat and open country) lower their property values :bear-despair:
