I think the comrade is making this point based off of SpaceX and capitalism. Ofc in AES, we might one day pursue space exploration. As it happens now, it's a siphon on resources we need for a laundry list a mile long of things people need to survive. Yes, Starlink could be a good concept under a world socialist project, but my guess is that many here reject space work because its current incarnation is competing billionaires spending further billions on rockets

I will admit you definitely have a different perspective than me. I respect what workers are doing, but I'll never praise the corporation, even if they're breaking new ground. None of the history changes the position of space exploration vis a vis other issues, even if one accepts that SpaceX is a marked improvement over NASA/DOD
