I found this sign posted on a store's building when I was on my way home from a job interview. No, that isn't my hand in the image; I had to find an HD version on a Facebook page for a company.
The most libshit thing you can do is disregard the paradox of tolerance because being open to fascists seems more inclusive at face value when, in actuality, it isn’t at all.
Equating the discomfort that BIPOC, religious minorities, women, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, the disabled, and neurodivergent people go through with a chud feeling uncomfortable simply because he got dunked on for his trash takes is just sleazy as fuck to me.
In essence, yes, you can not and should not kick someone out of a facility simply for harboring certain political views, but the need to put said political views on the same level as the discrimination that all the above categories go through makes this one of the most transparently performative attempts at inclusivity I've ever seen.
The best thing to have done was to just simply leave "ALL Political Parties" off the damn sheet.
In essence, yes, you can not and should not kick someone out of a facility simply for harboring certain political views
Even if they make "we should kill you and anybody like you" a cornerstone of their political beliefs.
the only way i could see that take being acceptable is if they mean ... because it would immediately be used against us and not fascists
In essence, yes, you can not
Yes you can
and should not kick someone out of a facility simply for harboring certain political views
Yes you should
Political views are also a choice, unlike most of the other things on that list, to state the obvious.
Political views are also a choice
Not to get all but you didn't just fall out of a coconut tree. You're the product of your historical and material conditions.
In that sense, its not unfair to say that kids who grew up ensconced in the imperial core are inevitably going to have political views informed by their personal economic conditions and educational institutions. What's more, as the benefits of the imperial core being contingent on the continued exploitation of foreigners and "illegal" domestics, the First Class Citizens are in a naturally adversarial relationship with their Second Class and foreign peers.
TL;DR; Read Settlers
That's not an argument against inclusion. At some level, you are right to exclude folks with toxic ideology from events focused on organization and action that these poisoned ideologues are going reflexively to opposed.
It is simply a recognition that certain people have more agency wrt their political philosophy than others. Folks who get to go to University and travel the world and meet people with adverse ideology and conditions and actually do something to participate in the struggle for liberation are on a very different footing than folks who just grew up in the back country of empire and fed themselves from the company store that's suddenly got empty shelves and a big "Immigrants Did This To You" placard where the treats used to be.
Political views are also a choice
Political ideology spews from the circumstances of material situation. Everyone believes their own views came to them rationally through the muses of logic and they have a hard time sympathizing with contrary views. I find it difficult to sympathize with fascists, because I'm one of their principal targets. Billionaires have a hard time sympathizing with me since they see money how I see tap water.
It's a choice to vocalize or organize political views, yeah, but a person's views come from two sources: their own personal experiences or they have an extraordinary level of ability to view reality through a different perspective. That second thing is really rare and doesn't impact a person's views nearly as much as their own lives.
I agree with this sentiment to be honest. I guess it was poor phrasing on my part because boldly expressing chuddy views and wearing hate symbols can be very exclusionary to all the other aforementioned groups and shouldn’t be tolerated, no matter how inclusive the place tries to be in theory. It was more just like, "As long as they're not causing a ruckus with their politics, then sure, they can shop wherever the fuck they want.”, but if this poster emphasizes being accepting of “all” politics, then the implication does seem like they’d be fine with a loser wearing a swastika shirt barging in, otherwise the context of welcoming all political views would be quite redundant to include.
I'm with you tbh. In theory, someone who just holds some beliefs that are never expressed or observable by outsiders is, by definition, nobody's problem. But explicitly allowing intolerant people to come in is just asking for trouble because we all know these people do not keep to themselves at all.
did they forget that 'Nazi' is a political party? Fuck this sign and anyone who thinks it's anything less than an open invitation to fascists
The term "virtue signaling" gets thrown around a lot but a sign trying to claim credit by proudly declarung it doesn't discriminate against fascists is pretty God damn on the nose.
I'm sure there's some take on "Nazis" being a cult rather than a political party. And then, if you dig a bit deeper, there's going to be some line about Communism and Nazism being the same, MAGA conservatives and Chapo Leftists just being confused about what they actually believe, and eventually "Okay yes we accept everybody but they still have to Obey The Law" when it comes to immigration and religious practices, etc, etc.
Proving my inclusivity by letting my son play with Heinrich Höss Von Lebensraum, the son of the nazi family that lives next door. Their adorable dog Blondie loves to join in the fun.
As a black trans person, I should take notes and be more like you. I should have more Nazis in my friend circle. How evil and tyrannical it is of me to exclude people simply for THINKING differently!?!?!? What am I? Scared of TRIGGERING opinions like the sensitive lil wokie I am? I'm so pathetic!
Youre never going to change their opinions if you just ignore them.
Which is your responsibility for some inexplicable reason and not just the responsibility of all of society to cast these people into a deep dark pit.
This is the clearest way to explain "social democracy is the liberal wing of fascism"
When you tolerate everybody to show how tolerant you are you actually just empower and embolden fascists.
This sign proudly declares the person is fine with fascists.
All political parties except the Democrats/Republicans, I guess.
Vote third-party instead.
In essence, yes, you can not and should not kick someone out of a facility simply for harboring certain political views
Because you should kick them in the head?
Not kicking them out because they're a "special customer" and they deserve a "special deal" amirite?
It's funny that the last two "ALL"s are grey as though even they don't believe in them as much as the others and will still throw out a teenage anarchist if given a chance. They tell themselves they'd also throw out an old Trump fan but they know they wouldn't.
Smells like All Lives Matter type shit. It's especially lib as fuck with that "Who doesn't love LOVE?" like please, the moment someone criticizes them for accepting chuds in their spaces, is the moment they'll turn on you for it.
"Who doesn't love love?"
That would be the fascists openly calling for the mass murder of any lgbtq people. Any other immediatly disqualifying questions you want answered libs?
I'm curious how old this sign is cuz it feels like most Libs have moved past this. They were fine with all the evil shit the GOP was up to before but since Trump ruined brunch I quite often see them openly fantasize about carpet bombing every red district in the US.
