Yeah it was. It allowed for some great first party games tech wise once people figured it out (the last of us for example), but pretty much every third party game before 2010 ran horribly on the PS3 because of the cell processor. Even the first uncharted game was pretty bad graphics wise.

Was ahead of its time and needlessly complicated, like most Sony things from that era, like the PS3.
The memory cards sucked ass though. And only one analogue stick.
