This is like the third or fourth union drive I’ve seen that directly mentions Hasan as a source of inspiration. No matter his faults, he’s the only leftist online “influencer” who it seems has an actual impact.

Chapo was also mentioned as a source for inspiration by the Starbucks organizers interviewed for the bonus episode (of Chapo, admittedly) on the subject. Bernie Sanders got a mention as well. So he's not the only one having a positive impact.

But props to Hasan for this regardless; always great to see real-world improvements resulting from online leftism.

Hasan is probably had a bigger influence than Chapo both due to the size of his audience, and I imagine his audience is more normie. Like a decent chunk of chapo listeners were probably only a couple of degrees removed from their local DSA chapter or volunteering for the Bernie campaign, and somewhat likely to get involved with or without them. But both are probably a net good.

Yeah I was mostly comparing him to people like V*ush but that may have gotten lost. I don't consider Bernie an "online influencer" but I totally forgot about CTH.

That was exactly my thought lol. That's why I created this post cuz I came across it on Twitter and was wondering how many union drives V*ush etc. have inspired.

Dengism is about aquiring capital to bring about the conditions to allow for comunism.

That makes mr han the most dengist streamer

Revealing not a single person asked him if he was investing his small hordes of money in developing the productive forces.

He's regularly mentioned that he doesn't do that. He's mentioned before that his money from twitch streaming just sits in his bank. All of his youtube revenue goes to his youtube editors and his podcasts are cooperatively owned. His merchandise is union made and I don't think he's making any money on that, the union sets the prices.

The reference to dengism frankly doesn't make any sense. I seriously hope the people of hexbear know that there is a difference between money and capital.

Yeah I get that it's a joke but I don't think that it's funny when there are many people that I have seen say that he has capital as not a joke. There are plenty of people that accuse Hasan of being a capitalist. I think that's a harmful accusation, considering the good that he's doing. The joke reinforces the misinformation.

You can convert them into each other, you know. Kinda' how capitalism functions at its basic level.

He's also importantly like the only mainstream online left guy that doesn't stigmatize ML and MLM viewpoints, even if he is neither himself.

Bingo. We need more of that, where leftist media personalities don't feel a constant itching urge to mention that Tankies Are Taking Things Too Far, instead just sucking it up and working with them. Hopefully more people follow his example.

This is why I think people need to get over the attitude that "e-celebs aren't real celebs" or don't matter. Digital media has become more accessible around the world and that means more people have exposure to them. This isn't 2012 anymore when Youtube was still growing and similar sites were just starting out or in the same position as Youtube.

With such thin margins you can say this about many things, but Donald Trump would absolutely not have been elected if not for 4chan.

clinton was pied pipering him, i think you can get trump without 4chan because her people are just that incompetent.

Yeah that's absolutely a bigger contributor- I'm really hinging it all on the fact that he barely won so there are literally hundreds of "but for this"

Lot of reasons but for one they mobbed online polls early on, making him seem like a possibility, and also kick started and botted The_Donald on reddit.

That's where q anon came from a year later. 4chan has always been very stealthily influential
