How the fuck does hexbear have zero media coverage about it when these clowns can get on vice?
How the fuck does hexbear have zero media coverage about it when these clowns can get on vice?
Because it's a lazy psyop, unlike hexbear, which is a very elaborated psyop :penguin-love:
Honestly best proof this site isn't an op is how zero people are aware it exists lol
naw that dude was a cracked out transphobe
:downbear:
I have the (completely unsupported by actual research) feeling that stuff is even worse than that. Saying that this is an op to discredit leftism assumes a liberal consensus that doesn't exist in the United States. It hasn't for a while now. MAGA people are the internally coherent mainstream of the right wing, not a fringe belief. More likely the struggle is between those willing to do Fascism and those who don't wanna pay for it. Fascism is the mass politics conception of society as a body politic, it doesn't just reinforce hierarchy it's whole point is to co-opt certain welfare policies. But by God that means taxes and infrastructure spending. Liberals in the US are the party of a managerial elite and they don't believe in that sort of thing. The country as a whole lives off printing dollars and lowering taxes, a status quo brought about by Conservatives more than 4 decades ago. I think this is MAGA communism nonsense is just the right wing version of when politics flounders because it's too online to get anywhere.
Fucking up the most basic understanding of Marxism is the point. This is what fascism looks like. Economic populism + reactionary social policies that entice a decent segment of the working and petite bourgeoise classes. It might have to change it's name because the word communism is so toxic in the states, especially among the people who this kind of politics appeal to. But actual real fascism will look like this when it takes power in the states.
In the article they directly quote :party-parenti::
In his seminal text Blackshirts and Reds, the political scientist Michael Parenti describes how fascist movements co-opt the symbols and language of socialism, building a “pseudo-revolution” that appeals to the working class without actually subverting existing power structures (such as a capitalist economy). That’s exactly the concern of observers who say that “MAGA Communism” is just a new grift, built to create viral views by embracing authoritarianism and MAGA.
:sicko-yes: Maybe this is actually a socialist of some sort writing this given that they've read Parenti
Vice does seem to have a higher than average amount of socialists on staff (more than zero)
Because Hexbear represents a true threat to the neoliberal hegemony by showing the people the power of shitposts and dunking.
The bourgeois can’t have that.
It is a very small "movement" that consists entirely of dorks on Twitter and Youtube. Why are these morons so obsessed with social media? These are the same people who spent 10x more time on Bernie Sanders supporters being mean to them on Twitter than they did on the literal Iraq war and Clinton/Biden support of it.
SOMEONE here has to be in the Deprogram discord, get those 3 in here.
Didn't Yugopnik post a few comments here when he was looking for someone to edit his videos? That's at least one of them that knows about hexbear.
No idea, I know I'm terminally online but I must have missed that.
Hexbear isn't pissing off enough outside libs that's what. The chapo subreddit made headlines exactly because it pissed off libs lol.
Signal boosting. Keep in mind Vice is where Gavin McInnes and Milo started out.
Because Hexbear coverage (assuming it was "unbiased", which lol) would have a potentially different effect on discourse than the effect signal boosting maga "communism" does, one less desirable to the ruling class.
Vice media
more like
cia media
I am accepting updoots to the left 🆙 ⬅️
This is basically for the same reason HBO made that documentary series about those AnCaps and called it The Anarchists
Very easy to take the most fringe sub-group of any particular movement and use them to cast a wide net
A rich terf once said she was going to trashtalk us on Australian live TV, but she didn't say anything about us when she was live :deeper-sadness:
