Disagree. They want to pump their numbers and cause people to create new accounts but also keep their old accounts active in whatever way that allows reddit to count them as an active user when trying to court investors. That's why they're so lax about users creating accounts to evade bans from a particular subreddit.

I mod a subreddit. We banned a guy, he tells us in modmail that he'll evade the ban, and even lists three accounts he claims are his alts. I report this to reddit, link them to the message; days later I get their boilerplate message that they "resolved the issue" but the guy's account is still live. Whatever. Few weeks later, he messages us again, "hey did you sus out my alts yet? Still enjoying the subreddit lololol." The process above is repeated and ends in exactly the same way. Now maybe this guy was lying the whole time. But they're very lax about user ban evasion in my opinion based on experience, and it makes sense that they would be, for the numbers-pumping reason I described.

In conclusion, reddit must be destroyed.
