All any monk born in the 13th century knows is illuminate manuscript, use loopholes to get around monk dietary rules, refill their ink pot, catch spontaneous dancing disease, make up number system and pray
what the fuck DID monks even do all day anyway
like there's praying/meditating and copying books
and sometimes making beer
what the fuck else
I guess keeping the peasants in line has to be somewhere up there
I would like some cactus-shaped number of tomatoes for rightward flag price :theory-gary:
Maybe
is it much better than writing
33
94
for the number 9433? It's a bit simpler but you end up reading it the same way when you have that many symbols
I dunno. Imagine this in a line in a book. If you try to fit this into the space of one normal sized symbol it's going to be too small. At best it could work if you turn it horizontally and make it two symbols lengths.
Right now you only have to remember 10 symbols to make any combination of numbers, though. That is a big advantage.
I get the concept, but I don't see what the glyph for 5455 is supposed to look similar to.
I can't see it either. I assume it's supposed to be something like this? https://i.imgur.com/7ZtIZ3E.png
