how wrong is he here? there appear to be studies correlating obesity to cognitive decline.
More or less it is a simplification of the pathophysiological mechanisms that contribute to mental decline and other impairments such as dementia and alzhiemers (more and more seen as lifestyle influenced diseases and so diet/obesity would contribute to it). So more or less Dr. Oz sucks ass at communicating to the public and loves sound bites (as well as the news).
So is he actually being taken seriously? I was under the impression he was just a joke
