There's no way this works, OPM is so over the top and ridiculous that the action just cannot translate to live-action.

it also is specifically a parody and homage to shonen anime and its tropes. All of the visual gags involve absurdly overpowered monsters and creatures getting easily obliterated by a funny bald guy. How can you do this live action for an english speaking audience? Doesn't make any sense

Adapting it to make fun of western comic tropes would fit pretty easy. I imagine they'll run into the same problem Murata had where the side characters are just more interesting and focus more on them

I think the english-speaking audience is definitely a smaller concern, anecdotally a lot of people I know who generally don't watch anime have seen it and loved it. But yeah, good luck having a live-action Boros fight.

One Piece was actually excellent. If you did it the same way then it could work.

I have absolutely zero faith that they will pull it off though, especially with these people.

Last time Justin Lin and Dan Harmon teamed up it was on the damn near perfect original paintball episode of Community. Cautiously optimistic here.

I can't wait for the scene where one punch man tries to have sex with his sister(who will be added to the live action adaptation just to include an incest scene). Oh boy.
