Kinda sucks that this artist (Red and Black Salamander) never grew past their 2018 Bernie left phase, I used to like their stuff.

I don’t even understand the stereotype. “Globalists” is a right wing dogwhistle for “jews”. I’ve never heard leftists use the term derogatorily. If we wanna talk shit about western hegemony or NATO, we use those terms directly.
There actually used to be a coherent leftist stance against "globalization" in the 90s. Like lots of protest movements, but that was much more focused on opposing things like corporate personhood, NAFTA, international debt schemes, stuff like that. I remember being in leftist chatrooms in like 2003 and they were talking about "globalism" but they meant the IMF. Leftists now seem to prefer to talk about that stuff in a broader context of imperialism.
Anyone now though using the term in a derogatory way is a deranged conspiracy theorist talking about Jews or they want a fascist world of nationality based on race.
anti-Globalization and the "Globalism" that has become a widely used term on the right in the last few years should be held distinct. The right doesn't use the term "Globalization" as far as I know.
The Battle of Seattle. Do you all really have memories that short? Seattle burned over NAFTA. Jello Biafra had an album called "No to WTO" or something like that.
They're literally talking about that exact thing :jesse-wtf:
I just learned about this for the first time. Thanks comrade!
For reading about scared little piggies: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999_Seattle_WTO_protests
One of the biggest aftershocks of Seattle was the development of the "Miami Method" that US regime security forces use to suppress dissent and political organizing to this day, albeit with signifcant development since 2000.
I think a lot of posters here are too young to remember it comrade. Certainly the artist is too.
yep and the "West Wing" prick Aaron Sorkin made fun of those protests with some of the most smug Hollywood neoliberal imperialist writing ever
The Battle of Seattle was a huge turning point in the history of social and political repression in the US. It scared the shit out of US regime forces and spurred the development of the "Miami method" of political repression, which gradually evolved in to the tactics that US police us to crush pro-democracy movements today.
The point being that the left was against this sort of thing before the right was. 20 years before Trump.
He's :same-picture: ing MLs and """patsocs"""
