It's his only real connection to the world outside his immediate bubble of underlings, and all the normal dysfunctional parasocial dynamics that impact normal people on social media impact a narcissistic billionaire even more. Now he owns it, effectively has total power over the discourse and is the ultimate celebrity on the platform, and it doesn't satisfy the pathology that made him buy it. Nobody loves him for it and nobody is flocking to it for his grand vision except Nazis who will destroy its business model.
