Honestly? Yes. They do. And it's happened before. When America firebombed Fallujah and forced every "combat age male" to stay inside the city limits while it happened, disallowing them retreat through humanitarian corridors, it was all a response to 4 Blackwater mercenaries getting killed by the local population. So the deaths of 4 mercenaries led to not only the firebombing of an entire city, the murder of thousands of civilians, and the deliberate SA and trafficking of defenseless women and children by US soldiers, but the American media cheered all this on as necessary retaliation for mercenaries getting killed.
