    It's used by groups trying to maintain their mass delusions to decry outsiders who "just don't get it".

    These people are so caught up in their "If we just keep believing, it will become real" attitude that they see perfectly reasonable concepts such as uncertainty and doubt as a threat.

    Granted, in case of crypto they often weren't all that wrong about that last part. Since the only thing that made crypto/NFTs valuable was hype, spreading "FUD" could actually hurt the investors' bottom line.

    In case of Elon, it shouldn't fucking matter if twitter posters think he's a clown because you'd think the guy has better things to do than read what people say about him on the godforsaken bird site.
