thinking if I get my rank up getting viewers will be easier

a large part of the twitch viewer base don't care if you're good at the game or not, they watch for entertainment

i streamed once, 3 years ago, when a friend of mine gave me his old mic. I just streamed rimworld for 2 hours and talked to chat like we were hanging out in the same room. still have 5 followers lol
my completely worthless advice would be to just do it, and let the chips fall where they may

Yeah, it's hard. I remember listening to a pod where popular streamers talked about their success, and it comes down to:

          Must do these things:

          • Have a microphone
          • Talk about whatever while having viewers, silence is not interesting
          • Gameplay that isn't completely average. You can be really terrible, really good, or do something interesting outside of the good/bad structure.
          • Stream.

Then, you need to actually get some viewers. People that like what you are doing. Options include:

          • Be involved in the game's community and make friends
          • Encourage people online to visit, put out a call on this site or on social media or whatever
          • Perform some never seen before feat so everyone comes to see what you'll do next (unlikely to happen)

The most important thing to remember is that it's a slow process. If you're streaming with the sole intent of becoming popular, that's the wrong approach. Stream with the intent of having a small number of people that do keep coming back to watch you.

that costs like $500+ for the model and rig and stuff but it's probably really lucrative yeah
