I have ADHD and I don't use it as an excuse for why I shouldn't be expected to do my dishes or flush the toilet

agreed. also add to the list anyone not autistic who describes minor personality quirks as "autistic." Get diagnosed by a pro before you go around spouting that shit.

Eh. Self diagnosis is controversial in the community. Women are also not diagnosed very often by medical professionals

also diagnosis is weird in general. it actually refers to a doc doing some sort of comprehensive test for your insurance or government in order to get disability benefits. its possible to get meds for a condition after describing how you feel to a doc without ever being properly 'diagnosed'. and being diagnosed and having that reported to insurance is a common way for insurance companies to discriminate against you, hence why it doesnt happen as a routine thing.

I have a full psych eval on the 28th. I suspect a plethora of issues ranging from BPD, C-PTSD, Bipolar type 2, ADD, OCD, and a few others related to panic attacks, anxiety, and depression. I used to be a nurse, so I'm not clueless about these things. I still have to jump through all the hoops and all I really want is just some Lamictal and Concerta. I can afford this for now, bit I feel for those who can't and have to deal with all this shit.

Thanks, abusive chud parents who wonder why they don't get to see their grandchildren. Maybe it has something to do with so much r*pe and domestic violence in front of a 4 year old, but what the fuck do I know? All I know is I need a lot of help. I'm doing DBT/EMDR but this depression every single day is overwhelming.

You're right except that as a USian, lol

Just think of us as having no access to pros. Medically speaking, we're a bit like The Purge. Steer clear - incorrect self-diagnoses are the least of the many, frequently fatal problems that our medical system causes
