(note: while WSWS (trot site) uses CCP instead of CPC, they generally have good takes on China and support China against US imperialism)

(note: to clarify, this article is in support of Zero-COVID and sees the lifting of the policy as a grave mistake)

(note: i do not necessarily support all the shit wsws says i am not a fucking trot)

Vaccines are probably a more viable solution in the long term, if they can improve vaccination rates before loosening restrictions, that's probably the best move. I don't think people want to still be doing lockdowns 20 years from now, there is a line to be drawn somewhere.

certainly and it seems they are taking such an approach as best they can.

China is dealing with the beginnings of a capital strike against them if they don’t start adapting here. It took 3 years, but enough global industry has now started to mobilize against them they need to start adapting.

China recently approved a nasal COVID vaccine for use, so maybe there's more confidence in getting more people vaccinated if the delivery system is easier and less painful.

You have to accept that there will be negative consequences to the global failure to fight COVID. Failure has consequences, otherwise it wouldn't really be failure in the first place. Going back in time and somehow making all the world governments coordinate action isn't an option. Completely isolating from the rest of the world where COVID is running rampant is not a viable long term solution. Thems the breaks, it's just acknowledging reality.
