Despite them not being physically in the US, not having operations in the US, and not selling the books. Just normal world police BS.
Couple things to cheer y’all up:
LibGen still works.
ZLibrary also works, just through Tor, and you need to create an ID. Here’s the Onion website.
And finally, there’s Anna’s Archive. It’s a search engine that searches through LibGen, ZLibrary and other sites for books. It’s awesome.
I only found out via this article on TorrentFreak. They’re legit.
China is evil because the FBI said they have international police stations that arrest nationals. Oh wait. That was made up? And the US actually did that while their worshippers cheer it on because Russia? Never give NATO an inch because they really don't care.
"The Chinese political system is authoritarian. There are no freely elected national leaders, political opposition is suppressed, all religious activity is controlled by the CCP, dissent is not permitted and civil rights are curtailed. Elections in China occur under a single-party authoritarian political system." - Wikipedia (totally an independent source)
Looking at how religion works in America, the CCP should probably take over the handling of religious activity in the US as well
Just replace the references to China in that quote with US and should be correct.
So they illegally arrested them Lmao just normal US things.
I don't know whether Slashdot or HackerNews commenters are worse.
we still got libgen at least. i'm not sure i'd be nearly as knowledgeable as i am today if i couldn't just go download the breadth of human thought on a whim. marx had to go sit in the british archives to figure out how capitalism worked. i have to type in 9 characters and it shows up at my fingertips.
From what I hear, the TOR site for Z-library is still available. I don't have the address off hand though. I've mostly just used libgen myself.
Yes but also it's just downloading an ebook they can't really do anything about that.
Argentina is no longer fascist, they just let fascists fart around in their territory unhindered.
if you still know how to use an IRC client you can @search on Undernet's #bookz that usually gives me something, but i usually use that place to pirate PNPRPG stuff now that the Trove went down, i have no idea if it has more stuff than just lib gen
edit: here's a useful tutorial about how to actually do it instead of just some half-drunk rambling
