the gender breakdown of the DSA chapter here is 99% male meanwhile all local anarchist groups are about 80% women and PSL is around 50%, so even if you were joining for this weird reason it would be highly futile

I would say that the breakdown of cis white male members vs everyone else in the chapter is a good indicator of how generally decent they'll be, but yeah, shouldn't join an org because of "personal opportunities" or to "meet people" like that, or whatever excuse guys might tell themselves.
