To be fair if they become a fascist you can lull them into a series of pointless debates about the merits of liberal democracy while agreeing that capitalism is cool so you get the illusion that you're winning them over.

If they become a drug addict you must have patience, compassion, and that relationship may take every ounce of effort you have to maintain.

I'd rather just circlejerk over capitalism than care about stuff.
