Some of us prefer Kratom. Never been addicted to dope but have a 15+yr relationship with opioids. Sometimes going on suboxone is like waving a white flag while replacing with Kratom is more liberating and dirt cheap, as subs also are. We get better and we fall back and live somewhat normal lives unless big on the needle and the fent.
It's those desperate cases on the street that freak people out.
There's nothing wrong with having a cig, coins, dollar or non-alcoholic drink for these guys.
I've never really enjoyed opioids but Kratom has helped me curb my drinking by like 95%, also does wonders for my energy levels and mollifying aches and pains.
Oh yeah I feel it's important to mention I do not drink. At this point in my life I have had more negatives from alcohol use than opiate use. 5yrs of only sporadic drinks (like 3-6 partial drinks in that time). I can't have it mixing with the benzos and opiates in my system either.
So much of treating opioids is just replacing the fent for subs it's not really all that helpful. I fully support kratom for people coming off them, even medical marijuana if that helps too. I've also seen studies that psychedelics are helpful in resetting the addiction centers of the brain.
I have had success in lowering my use with both Salvia and low doses of Ayahuasca home preps. Never a visionary dose but an insightful one.. I also do not drink. Iboga is the one touted as the best for hardcore addicts. I have a sub clinic two blocks from my house but I haven't given up yet. Those replacement meds (Suboxone and Methadone) get you hooked on something harder than Kratom.
The closest I've come to it was when my cat got put on it for his tummy issues and it fucked him right up, his eyes were saucer shaped and he was quiet as a mouse. I really feel for those struggling with opioids there's not a lot of good options, alcohol is bad too though as you can seize up if you withdrawal.
I've taken the Rxd bupe formulated for a cat before. She was over her injury and there were a lot of oral syringes left and I put it in OJ.
My last cat got Rxd gabapentin which I also take and didn't ever give him one. The vet only wanted it to sedate him, because even as an old cat he could fight the vet well.
I said fuck it and made them drug him. I didn't wanna do it. I gave him his steroid meds but didn't wanna give him psychoactive meds
When someone hands you a pill and says, "this won't get you high but you'll still go into withdrawal if you miss a dose," I can understand why you might be a little hesitant.
Not trying to make excuses for your person, of course! I just sympathize with the struggle. Addiction sucks.
Watching a loved one deal with addiction fucking sucks, but so does having to punch your kid in the face for being a Nazi.
thing that i hate the most is when they refuse to get on anti addiction meds :yea:

Methadone is rough as fuck and something I do not wish on anyone, subs are not as hard but it's still bad.
I've only had a rec experience with bupe and it seems pretty strong.
