minus-squarebarrbaric [he/him]hexbear4·7 months agoEven then, the mixing on a lot of shows is deliberately bad so that explosions/gunfights are louder than dialogue (I blame Christopher Nolan). Mostly for newer shows, so Farscape might be okay. link

Noise cancelling headphones or earbuds might work - they'll minimise background sounds and distortion, so you can hear more clearly at lower volumes.
