Is there actually anything to the right other than being a bigot and repressing the left?

The right believes that all hierarchies are just and should be honored, enforced, and entrenched. Of course right wingers never imagine themselves at the bottom of whatever hierarchy, but to understand their behavior it's important realize that they also don't generally imagine themselves at the top of the hierarchy either. They want to lick the boot and have someone else lick their boots in return. It's an ideology about people "knowing their place," and that includes themselves as well as whatever oppressed minority.

That's the version of their ideology that best predicts their behavior. It rarely predicts their rhetoric though; they'll just say whatever looks good for them in the moment.

Nope. Not really. All the groundwork's been done in terms of the ideological framework so there's basically repressing the left in case anyone gets any ideas about changing stuff and promoting bigotry to distract from how shit everything is and giving people an outlet to let off steam by mutilating and murdering people who are different from them.
