I never understood people who were scared of spiders or snakes or sharks or any of the other common animal phobias. Animals are just animals, they're all chill, they're part of the ecosystem and they're great.

Until i first saw one of these types of fuckers. God those things are fucking terrifying to me, even just to look at. They made some parts of red dead 2 legit unplayable because i was such a pussy about them. I assume the alligator is the slightly more terrifying one on the left

These guys evoke the same feeling in me as an adult that the dinosaurs from the King Kong PS2 game did as a kid

I love pics of the Everglades at night where it's just a ton of gator eyes reflecting in the dark, that's the scariest to me. Grew up in Florida so seeing them out and about wasn't too uncommon

It's funny how irrational it usually is. You obviously understand why you shouldn't be afraid of them but your gut doesn't care. (Something something reactionary thought and gut impulses)

I have done research with lots of reptiles and at this point I just find these big dudes cute, like uguu~ squish their faces cute. But I grew up in a house full of potentially dangerous spiders and I still jump when I see one, even though I know not to be afraid. My guess is that as a kid I probably saw my parents who are not biology-brains freaking out when I was near spiders, and I just absorbed the message that I should be terrified.
