I would kill for a Roman epic at this point. Like, there is so much more we know about the Ceaserean period now than we did in the 80's. Even if it's a big schlocky thing, it would at least be something different.

Any kind of historical or even alt-history epic would be good. When was the last big budget historical epic that wasn't just History™ with Hollywood™ Movie Trope® Characteristics? When are we ever getting another Laurence of Arabia? Or Ghandi? Or anything like that? Those movies felt real in a way that barely any others do. The movie Laurence of Arabia is practically part of history itself at this point. Can't imagine an American movie ever doing that. I guess if they did do a historical movie it would be so full of revisionism and lies that it would be unbearable to watch anyways.

just watching that Rome hbo show really shows how authentic someone can make ancient period pieces now, and that shit was comparatively cheap. i'd kill for Cleopatra money going into a project like that

        I hate most P R E S T I G E T V and I actually enjoyed Rome for what it was compared to Gambo and the like.

It does Brutus dirty but oh well. :edgeworth-shrug:

Some dipshit at the Marketing dept:

      "A roman epic you say?"

      "Got it, Gladiator 2 and 3 coming out summer 2025-7. " :so-true:

      Average chapo.chat user:

      "No not like that!" :horror:
