Both 90%+ on audience score though. Nobody should give a single shit about "movie critics", probably up there with game journalists as some of the most useless bourgie shit job there is.

Absolutely, between the bots and the trolls it is also extremely bad and barely worth anything.

But I feel at least people are inherently skeptical about the audience, heck probably because the industry trained the public to distrust their own reactions in favor of critics already.

Scoring is just not a very good way to rank something as subjective as a movie, and the way RT does it is just a measure of the consensus around a film rather than a measure of its quality so its extra useless to compare films using it. Puss & Boots' Tomatometer score is on the level of films like Citizen Kane or The Shining - and while I'm sure its a fun film I don't believe that it is a once in a generation medium defining classic.

A lot of critics also have really bad Twitter brain, I wouldn't be surprised if they reflexively hated Avatar 2 because of the meme-y fan base. That, and obviously animated family movies get graded on a different curve.

The due review bombings some good movies have abysmal audience scores so I usually discount those

People like game reviews and walkthroughs so idk what makes a games journalist more useless than any game adjacent media like a stream

Audience score is usually high for franchise films. If you liked Puss in Boots 1, you'll probably like Puss in Boots 2. If you didn't like Puss in Boots 1, you probably didn't watch the sequel and won't be counted in the audience score.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage has a 57% critic score and a 84% audience score, not cuz the director understands the silent majority, but because nobody is gonna watch Venom 2 unless they're already into that shit

Have you heard of Commander Stephanie Sterling? They been doing outstanding work and educating the CHUDS about the nature of crAAAp-it-all-ism in industry. Thank gawd for them. They also choke slam people and educate about transgender issues in their spare time.
