if we're going by fractions, i'm full representation of the british isles (excluding northern Ireland) by myself lmao

one grandmother was half Welsh, half English
the other was half Scottish, half English
both grandfathers were Irish, which bagged me Irish citizenship

                        Nice, nice.

Also there's no such thing as Northern Irish, just occupied Irish lmao

It's kind of like saying north and south Koreans are different, which infers different ethnic roots, when in actuality we're all one people, just artificially divided.

Both 90%+ on audience score though. Nobody should give a single shit about "movie critics", probably up there with game journalists as some of the most useless bourgie shit job there is.

Absolutely, between the bots and the trolls it is also extremely bad and barely worth anything.

But I feel at least people are inherently skeptical about the audience, heck probably because the industry trained the public to distrust their own reactions in favor of critics already.

Scoring is just not a very good way to rank something as subjective as a movie, and the way RT does it is just a measure of the consensus around a film rather than a measure of its quality so its extra useless to compare films using it. Puss & Boots' Tomatometer score is on the level of films like Citizen Kane or The Shining - and while I'm sure its a fun film I don't believe that it is a once in a generation medium defining classic.

A lot of critics also have really bad Twitter brain, I wouldn't be surprised if they reflexively hated Avatar 2 because of the meme-y fan base. That, and obviously animated family movies get graded on a different curve.

The due review bombings some good movies have abysmal audience scores so I usually discount those

People like game reviews and walkthroughs so idk what makes a games journalist more useless than any game adjacent media like a stream

Audience score is usually high for franchise films. If you liked Puss in Boots 1, you'll probably like Puss in Boots 2. If you didn't like Puss in Boots 1, you probably didn't watch the sequel and won't be counted in the audience score.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage has a 57% critic score and a 84% audience score, not cuz the director understands the silent majority, but because nobody is gonna watch Venom 2 unless they're already into that shit

Have you heard of Commander Stephanie Sterling? They been doing outstanding work and educating the CHUDS about the nature of crAAAp-it-all-ism in industry. Thank gawd for them. They also choke slam people and educate about transgender issues in their spare time.

RT is actually kind of a shit way of assessing a film, as it is really just a measure of safe a film is.

        Which ones?

I find some movies with mid rankings can be great. But anything under 30% tends to be exactly as bad as they said it was.

Just slop that I grew up with like the TMNT or Batman movies, or like Tank Girl. Also shitty karate movies where some white guy with a 70's porn star mustache fights his way through wave after wave of opponents.

I can't remember the name but there's one where the protagonist is like taking his final test and makes his way through a forest ganking other ninjas the entire way and enters a temple where he beheads the master, only for it to be revealed as a dummy as the real master walks out and gives him like a ninja certificate. The main villain also only refers to him as ninja.

"It's just a kids' movie" should never be an excuse for something being bad, especially because what kids absorb during their formative years is the foundation for the rest of their lives.

I sincerely hope the Puss in Boots movie is good. I haven't seen it yet.

I'll raise my children on nothing but Shrek movies. All of them, including that weird DVD that included those red/blue 3D glasses.

What sorcery do you speak of? Is it possible for a mere mortal to obtain this kino?

I'm not even sure if it was officially licensed, but I remember the scenes were just different short stories like episodes.

I distinctively remember one scene where shrek turns to the camera and throws a handful of spiders towards the screen. With the 3D glasses on, it looked fucking horrifying.

In hindsight, casting Puss in Boots as Geralt after Henry Cavill left the show proved to be more popular than anyone could have anticipated.
