I'm naturally introverted, so I don't go out much except for work and visiting family, and I've gotten sick twice. It feels inevitable at this point, I don't know anybody who has cared about stopping the spread in the past year, so I just try not to think about it too hard

Thank goodness for testing tho, I was recently able to isolate quickly enough that none of my roommates got sick

I think about this concept when it comes to left-wing talking points in media. I recently started Amazon Prime Video's The Boys and it makes interesting points on celebrity culture, politics, and the police, but if nobody watching it starts their own terror cell, why would Bezos care? The jester is just here to keep people entertained, and he's doing a great job

  • I've been cutting down on social media use lately, lots of "good ideas for posts" have turned into "interesting thoughts I've had" and I never have to reword the idea to be more understandable, or decide what audience would be interested in this idea the most, or come back to my thought to check how many likes it got

It feels ironic to make this post since I've been thinking about the concept a lot, but I feel that sharing too many of your own thoughts online can be harmful, getting point-based feedback for every human thought you have can be unhealthy. It can reshape your thoughts to try to be more marketable and can get you really defensive when 30% of people disagree with your mildly controversial take

Does this make any sense? Am I stating the obvious? Or is it just that I'm bad at persuasive writing and normal people can get their thoughts out just fine? Idk

Audience score is usually high for franchise films. If you liked Puss in Boots 1, you'll probably like Puss in Boots 2. If you didn't like Puss in Boots 1, you probably didn't watch the sequel and won't be counted in the audience score.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage has a 57% critic score and a 84% audience score, not cuz the director understands the silent majority, but because nobody is gonna watch Venom 2 unless they're already into that shit

  • Twitter added a new viewcount feature to let everyone know when your post gets 500 views and 2 likes, and there's no way that's good for the user experience

Psychologically, "12 people liked your tweet" is very different than "3000 people saw this tweet and 12 of them liked it"

Social media is alienating enough without knowing exactly how many eyes are on you, silently judging you
