I used to think Texas recession sounded ridiculous, too, but I have to recommend the recent this is hell episode with Gerald Horne about this. If any state is going to secede, it’ll be Texas. The nomenklatura/nascent bourgeoisie had a great deal to gain from breaking up the USSR; who’s to say the American bourgeoisie doesn’t feel the same about the USA? Texas allying with Mexico seems ridiculous though, as it seems no one hates Mexicans more than Texas.

Texas left mexico because it wanted to be in a white country, there is zero, less than zero, chance they ally with Mexico. Its more unrealistic than Elon somehow becoming president of the USA proper.

Texas is already capitalist doe, not much state assets to sell for pennies. Texas becoming independent means they will longer be able to create the dollar and will have to start their own currency, considering the dollar's special place in the world economy, itll be pretty difficult for them to recover.

Though there are some advantages for the bourgeoisie. They could pay workers a lot less and kill whatever worker protections left.

They could still just use the dollar. Plenty of countries use a currency they don't control. It limits your options wrt monetary policy, of course, but it does happen quite often.

All of Texas’s no government shit is on the back of federal aid. If they succeed they would be forced to begin doing the same programs the fed take care of or face collapse.

Which they would be unable to do from the ravenous pushback citizens will give from their lifetimes of propaganda drip.

It probably would take a decade but Texas would collapse. The problem is now that everything by is expected to happen instantly, in the same way people claim twitter is fine because the code hasn’t collapsed on itself yet people will claim Texas is successful as it limps towards collapse
