Toads are a bunch of frumpy little cutie pies who love and value you, but did you know they are also trans icons? True Toads (Bufonids) have an extra weird little seemingly vestigal organ called the "Bidder's Organ" that usually just sits there doing fuck all. However, when a male toad is castrated or gets its gonads damaged in T O A D C O M B A T or whatever, the toad commits to being a total bottom and the Bidder's Organ develops into a sort of pseudo ovary and begins to produce viable egg cells. Sadly in the wild this is mainly caused by pollution caused chemical castration. Female frogs also have the organ, but we don't yet know if it works the other way around too.
Bonus Fact: "Toad" and "Frog" are terms lacking any real scientific meaning. While toads are usually bumpy, earthen toned ambulators, naming conventions are really more of a vibe thing. In fact even among the so called "True Toads" there are species we call frogs.

im incredibly curious about toad combat now. do they fight each other or is it mostly avoiding predation?
