tbf it might be about how much more of a disaster the 20th century would have been without the Soviets.

Edit: Rough summary (I watched at 2x speed and didn’t focus too much on the specifics): Trotsky takes power from Kerensky by electoralism, the Whites win the civil war ousting Trotsky then invade Atatürk’s Turkey for some reason, Russia descends into a fascist state under Kolchak and Germany turns left instead.

So literally just Russia and Germany swapping roles in WW2.

“Kolchak turns into a dictator. A wave of antisemitism engulfs the country and thousands of Jewish families are exiled, or worse.”

    He also says

“What would a Ukraine that never experienced Stalin’s Holodomor look like?”

despite earlier mentioning famines during Kolchak’s reign. He did mention the White Terror though and said it was much worse than the Red Terror.

How do the Soviets losing in Russia make the SDP not betray the left in Germany?

From the little I’ve watched of them, they seem like standard libs really. And this video lines up with that IMO. (See my edited comment for a summary.)

IDK, Russia becomes the birthplace of fascism? Nazis still take power because Germany's situation hasn't changed? WW2 lasts longer and nukes are dropped in Japan, Russia, Afghanistan, Germany, etc.? American unipolarity begins in 1950 instead of 1990? It would probably suck real bad.

Wasn't it the master of pogroms, Russia?

I feel like, in this situation, it's either socialism or barbarism for it... that being said, indeed, we'll prbly see a right-wing bloodbath that'll make leftist infighting look like child's play...

Don't click on it. I was cringe scrolling YT the other day and clicked on a Tom MacDonald music video out of morbid curiosity and YT decided from that moment on, I only wanted to see trashy white racist rappers covered in cringy ass tattoos. I had to actually block Old MacDonald before YT would give in and stop showing me that buffoon.

you also might be able to undo some of the damage by removing it from your watch history

From past experience, even just hovering over a video and letting the preview play for 10-15 seconds is enough to add it to your history as partially watched.

That's good to know because a few that I deleted, I was pretty sure I never actually watched and they showed up on my home page. I must have hovered. I think I might be switching do an Indivious instance full time soon.

Yeah I have this problem but IRL. One of my coworkers is an r/imaginarymaps power poster with slather ukraney and two-state solution takes.

I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if their stuff's been posted in the dunk tank before.

To quote that blowhard Christopher Hitchens: "The name for fascism would be a Russian word"
