I know this works for Kroger (as of a few years ago) and may work for other places with membership cards:
Ask for a membership card. It has instructions to register your account, but you can just ignore it. You just scan it like normal at checkout. It even accumulates gas points. The only thing is you can’t give your phone number if you forget the card.
Kroger still has their old card system, but now lots of deals require the app, but the location detection is broken so i cant apply the damn coupons when im in the store
This is good advice, but my franchise has switched to app only. I really had to do all this shit to save three bucks, otherwise the deal simply was not available.
Another tip is that one card will basically work anywhere. My Safeway card has worked at every grocery store I've ever been to. Cashiers give me funny looks but I just tell them to scan the card. The system just wants any fucking number and I just want the "sale" price that should be the normal price.
