I've only played with a few friends. Given the game has satirical fash themes I'm gonna go with yes

Fascists flock to any portrayal even if it says they're idiots

Just don't talk. I never talk, even when I had weirdos who wanted me to talk I just muted them and we did a few missions before I bounced.

If you don't mind people being a dick and kicking you for not having the meta load-out about 20% of the time yes.

The game is infinitely better with even one other friend.

Yeah, its fun. I've been lucky or maybe I just don't play long enough sessions, but I haven't had any teammates that were really egregious to play with. I know a couple other people on here have had different experiences so YMMV.

Can you communicate without voice chat? Like through pings or alerts or anything? I fucking hate voice chat, and so I rarely play online games unless they have robust non-verbal communication systems like Apex.

You can use text chat on PC, and there is also a quick react wheel you can use on the fly (to say 'Sorry' 'Affirmative' etc)

I use it a lot, and you can spot things/mark things on the map as another means of communicating

Yeah you can ping locations and enemies. Not quite as dynamic as with Apex, but still effective.

Apex took way too long to add a ping for "dont fucking go in there you fucking idiot"

You can stay off voice chat and just use the "ping" functionality plus emotes with randoms, but it's a lot more fun when you're strategizing on the fly or lamenting the stuff you dropped when you died.

I just use the random matchmaking to find randoms to play a session or two with. And it's pretty fine, most people are competent these days at least between the 5-7 difficulty levels. I rarely fail a mission completely.

It is, at the very least, less fun.

If you don't have friends with it, get them to buy it. If they won't, make new friends.
