The "Developer Insights" series of posts do a pretty good job of showing behind the scenes work on the game.
It's the things presented here that show we're in for a more efficient & accurate simulation, with a significantly different game under the hood. Things like Orbit Tessellation and the new planet visual system and exhaust are especially exciting to me.
