"First, I must confess that over the last few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season."

If we apply SW lore to modern politics (Biden was like 30 something when the original Star Wars came out... consider that... almost 50 years ago) Vader is basically Biden and the Emperor is, I suppose?, Trump.

You can get the guy shooting lightning out of his non-functioning cock and openly just saying "yeah, we gotta kill all the other species or otherwise enslave them so fucking what?"

or you get the "lesser evil" going around, chopping up younglings, fire bombing and genociding entire planets for resisting the empire... but maybe he feels a little bit bad about it.

He's just killing all these disgusting non-empire, non-humans, non-subservient planets/species because they said they don't want to live under the yoke of the empire. "That's anti-imperialism, man! Come on, man! Just sit back, let me swing my giant red laser-dildo around a few planets, maybe daddy can blow a few up, and hey, I bet those dog-creatures on Kashyyyk realize their knees can bend after all. It's all gravy from there! Just stop being so fucking liberal, ok!? Millions of empire-haters gotta die. We all must live with this fact. Please just shut the fuck up about it already because you're kinda starting to sound like you also hate the empire and my dildo-trigger finger is getting very itchy. All these questions are making Vaden very angry!"

In today's news, the Galactic Empire has just passed a law that declares any criticism of the efforts to expand the Empire, crush the Rebellion, and eradicate the Jedi, to be classified as hate speech against force users.

situations where arguments must be made from 'law and order' are inexorably undivorceable from a Hitlerian school of statecraft. outright saying 'there is no argument against your cause, but you're not respecting me and you're making me look weak, so I'll stamp you out.'

"order must prevail" and "dissent must not lead to disorder" are the kind of comically fascist lines you would expect to find coming from the over the top bad guy in a YA novel

Bringing out the Clintonian classics. Love to see the concept of "order" to justify draconian actions of the state... again.

    Also this:

In his remarks Thursday, Biden also criticized “those who rush in to score political points” from the protests, saying that “this isn’t a moment for politics, it’s a moment for clarity.”

WHEN IS IT TIME FOR POLITICS YOU FUCKING MONSTER? God fucking damn it. Genocide isn't political! Crushing protests isn't political! Don't force the president to do politics, it's not his job! dem

      Also WHAT FUCKING CLARITY.

It's pretty fucking clear that Isreal is doing a genocide and you're supporting it. What you are doing is trying as hard as you fucking can to muddy that waters on that incredibly clear subject.

I'm sure the speechwriters are capitalizing on the widely held US view that "politics is all bullshit has nothing to do with me", hence the "this isn't the time for politics" line.

This is really emblematic of the Democrats full tilt to being the party of the old order after co-opting and shutting down BLM once it was no longer useful to their immediate goals.

I wonder what can give once they completely criminalize dissent? These restored Bourbons are going to make people do stuff like banquet campaigns just to talk about soc dem stuff.

Did the Dems ever even make a cynical co-op ting of trans rights? On Terf Island our bourgeois liberal parties sure as shit didn't.

Dems will attempt to rewrite history just like they did with gay marriage and pretend they supported it the whole time.

Didn't think of those at first but, you're right. BLM was the best example in my mind because of all the protests it drew.
