Putting circuit boards on carpet is just asking for trouble. This photo is just missing white tube socks and dad bod for the trifecta.
don't do this. it seems great till the clips slip and your eeprom is left in a possibly unrecoverable state.

Mmmm.... No not really. I've been robbing parts from this computer for a while due to the formentioned bit rot. Actually had to reinstall capacitors because I robbed caps from this board.
So you're reflashing your bios with an Arduino? That's really cool, I've never seen that before. Is there code people have written for that? Could you flash different bios on while you're at it, like Coreboot or something?
Yeah someone else wrote the flasher, but its bugged and writes garbage data to the first 256 bytes of the eeprom.
