Its not universal but a significant portion of people from my hometown answer the phone with "Oh, hi there!"
I'm a big fan of answering the telephone by saying "telephone!" with enthusiasm and a bit of musicality kinda similar to how an old lady would say "you-hoo!"
But nobody calls me anymore, thank Beelzebub.
This has big "answer the phone with an 'ahoy!' like Alexander Graham Bell wanted to get going" energy.
"Well boy howdy I'll tell you, this place sure is busier than an anthill what got sprinkled with Twitchy Dan's special hardtack, I do reckon."
