James Cameron says steal weapons from the US military and use them to fight for indigenous rights
I will not be responding to any haters and losers who don't like the film because theyve confused leftism with being a miserable contrarian
Death to America
The movies are mostly inconsequential candy. The unspoken principles of the film are leftist and that is rare. So it is enjoying a treat and not having to stress over it being subtitle fashism like every single disney movie. It is just really good low art. People are unused to seriously praising low art so it feels weird. Our instinct is to want it to be more than it is. However it is part of one of the biggest film franchises on earth so this is a good sign.
What is the definition of "low" art? What are the other kinds? Just curious.
I mean depends on what school of art history you ask. High art would be art ment to educate, or inspire. Low art would be art ment to be fun or entertaining. But I am sure you can find many other definitions.
So, like, movies about french emotions and how cool it is to be rich are high are. Films about explosions and having a nice time with your friends are low art.
I appreciate that distinction, but those both sound like examples of low art from your definition.
Also from this definition you could call exploring the emotions of cultural/ecological destruction and resistance to it high art.
Yeah, it's all arbitrary
