So I just found out about this guy about a week ago from his >40 part documentary series about Stalingrad so it's a bit of a shame to realise that he's a :frothingfash: """just asking questions""" guy
(Also I just realised his name is a short for "The Imperator Knight" from 40k so yeah, that should have been a red flag)
This guy used to be a pretty ok military history channel. He was actually far more fair to the Soviets than you'd expect and made several videos dispelling myths regarding Soviet military doctrine and equipment.
Then out of nowhere he makes a video about the Nazis being socialists and he's been a frothing reactionary ever since.
The nazis were so socialist they waged war against the soviet union because it's wasn't socialist enough!
Haven't watched this but I scrolled down to the comments and people were like "you read the same book as me! it inspired me to read Mein Kampf" :what-the-hell:
his name is a short for “The Imperator Knight” from 40k so yeah
That explains so much. He was a decent military history channel a few years back and then he dropped a "Nazis were socialists" video out of nowhere and it seems like it was downhill ever since.
I was very invested in a game series called "Close combat" which was about military tactics around 10 years ago and "The Imperator Knight" or TIK as he called himself was a huge figure in the community. Probably was the largest Let's play channel for the game series.
I lost interest in the game series and the channel a few years ago and essentially forgot about him. Out of curiosity, I once looked up his channel a few months ago but never found the let's play videos, so assumed he disappeared.
I wondered if this was the same guy after reading your post and looked it up and it is! He has rebranded to a history channel and has removed the game videos. I hate it when you watch someone's videos and get a blast from the past moment and they turn out to be a chud, a decade later. There is a huge overlap of military nerds and chuds, so should have known.
