As a conspiratorial-minded chap, is this an opportunistic ploy, or was this movie specifically designed to function as a Trojan Horse to accelerate a fascist agenda of mass censorship?

Or just empty politics as usual? Something about this feels... different...

    It's just weird that you would use the brush of a polarizing white Westerner's writings on Islamic culture to paint a native Muslim Senegalese woman's interpretation of her own native culture. And I didn't see his name mentioned in the twitter thread.

    The rest, I don't know what to tell you. The movie debuted internationally and in film festivals with narry a peep. But the distinguished honor of ribald fire and brimstone always seems to go to an accelerating puritanical playground in the ol' USA. I see it as a harbinger of more to come.
