I'll second the Rittenhouse and Bulleit. If you're trying to spend some $$$, High West makes some good shit, as does Whistle Pig. Cedar Ridge makes my favorite rye (it uses malted rye), but idk how widely distributed it is. I like Sazerac as well. Old Overholt is decent for its low price. Don't buy a blended Canadian whiskey no matter what!
Rye is good straight. If you are looking for a cocktail, the Sazerac is my all time favorite.
