When Yasha Levine was on Radio War Nerd a month ago he had this really interesting section where he talked about how content creators get "radicalized" by the algorithm of their subscribers/followers. Because their paycheck, their ability to feed their kids or pay their mortgage, is based on not inflaming their audience they end up getting nudged towards appealing to what he audience wants to hear.
One example he gave is that if your audience is there because you are critical of liberals you do not talk about masks.
Anyways this is a long way of saying this all makes sense - Bri was only ever going to be followed by left-libs so it makes sense she would eventually be pushed to team with Vaush
I think its more accurate to say that, the majority of people who paid for Bri's patreon and follow her twitter are lib-lefts, therefore it was inevitable that she would end up with Vaush. It really is incredible how quickly her post-Bernie podcaster grift started though. You would think being good friends with people like Dave from the Dollop would help, but I guess Dave still considers himself primarily a comedy writer and is not clearly angling for another spot on a dem-soc's campaign.
Dave is basically a DSA lib but one with remarkably few bad takes, probably because he never talks about international affairs save to say that America should stop fucking everyone, which is itself also a good take though one which does not go far enough. The Dollop is still great but his other cohost on the Audit (forget the name), although pro-union, is just too lib for me.
Yeah Josh kinda sucks, he is the only thing keeping the podcast from becoming a rabid leftwing tankie-fest. Which is why they are able to have guests like Nina Turner on.

Sorry what exactly is the difference between these statements that is important to note?
Well, lots of non-lib left people 'followed' her initially, its just that no one that far left is willing to actually pay for her schtick, whereas lib-left people love to pay to hear people preach their favorite opinions at them.
it's like how subcultures form collectively out of individual humans' contradictory needs to both have a unique identity and relate to others, but all psychically aimed at one person

this is why it is important to punish your audience frequently so you cultivate an audience of pain pigs :top-use-words:
Oink Oink

It's a minor difference.

Yasha and RWN are not immune to this, they are basically the thinking man’s libs when it comes to Ukraine.
Yeah. He was talking about himself
