I have no idea what these words are. I had to look at the comments here from my trans comrades for context clues. Since you all seem to be digging it I'm guessing this is some sort of wholesome request?
Since this is the music comm I guess this is music related? Before noticing that I thought maybe it was about drugs.
CDJs are digital DJ turntables, first invented to allow DJs to use CDs the same way they'd been using vinyl, though most people just use them with USBs nowadays.
Jungle is a genre of hardcore rave music that originated in the UK in the 90s, combining elements of House, Techno, Hip-Hop, Funk and Reggae into a high tempo barrage of breakbeats and sub-bass. Some examples of Jungle:
Lmao, this is the second time in the last week or so that someone's said my responses sound like it was AI generated.
I guess I've just spent so much time on r/breakcore explaining what Jungle, DnB and Breakcore are to people that I can sorta just write these types of responses without really thinking about them.
It's Chicago house and Detroit techno, otherwise this is spot on. Also, a lot of the hate that disco on through house and techno received was not only because it was black and brown music, but also associated with the queer community.
oh yeah big time, anyone saying they like IDM/Intelligent dnb, especially in >currentyear, is definitely sus and probably a cop. I literally can't think of a single producer of any note who called themselves "intelligent" anything tbh. MCs will be MCs tho :che-smile:
Nah, Jungle's a music genre, though the name originated from anti-black racism on some level. Jungle was born out of the hardcore rave scene in the UK in the early 90s, a scene which black artists were heavily involved in, especially artists who were 1st or 2nd gen immigrants from current/former British colonies in the Caribbean.
In the early stage of UK hardcore rave music, their were like 5 or more different names that were all being used interchangeably to describe the same styles of music. It's a bit unclear just how Jungle became one of these names people started using, but it seems like it probably started as a racist slur against the music/black artists that was then reclaimed by the people it was being used against. Nowadays it's so far removed from it's origin that most people probably don't even realize that it started as a slur unless they've watched/read interview with 90s artists talking about how Jungle even became the name of the genre.
I think it also originates from Reggae culture/slang on some level as well, but I'm not anywhere near knowledgeable enough on that subject to say how.

Well now I learned something today.
I've got AI-brain, this reads like a ChatGPT response to me.

Yeah, especially since a lot of the stuff that gets called IDM has other, better descriptors (e.g. breakcore)
Also, I think this is probably the documentary to which you're referring.
